Returning to Work After Retirement

Marie, 59, is a retired Cégep teacher who taught French for 22 years. Since her retirement two years ago, she had kept herself busy with a variety of leisure activities, but wanted to find something she could really devote herself to. She loved teaching French and wanted to put her skills to good use, but was looking for something on a part-time rather than a full-time basis. After speaking with an employment counsellor, she decided to give her name to the local school board as someone who could help children with their homework. A few months later, Marie was hired to help elementary school children with their homework after school, a job that allows her to use her skills and earn some extra money.
