OUR SERVICESSuccessful Job-Finding StoriesRecent GraduateAmélie, 22, had just finished her university degree in journalism and was looking for work in her field. She had had several summer jobs (hotel, tourism industry and day camp), but never had to look for a “real” job. She looked through job notices online and in the paper. After a while, she was convinced no jobs as a reporter could be found anywhere. She began to think about returning to university to study in another field. However, after speaking to a career counsellor, she realized that 80% of available jobs are never posted. With her counsellor’s support, she decided to contact all the employers for whom she wanted to work, even if she did not know whether they were hiring. A few weeks later, she had obtained full-time work replacing a journalist who was off on maternity leave for 10 months.
